Engaged With One Page
Single webpage design promoting a custom content management system
Project Overview
2013 | Web Design & Experimental Development
In the summer of 2013 the client conceived the idea to promote their content management system with a single-page website. The site would be a responsive, visually appealing, and informative, with clear calls-to-action inviting camp directors (the primary target audience) to contact the client for more information.
I created responsive design mockups at four different sizes: large, medium, small, and extra-small — this project was my introduction to the Bootstrap framework. Though I am primarily a graphic designer, I was given the opportunity to experiment with developing this page using Bootstrap — with a fair amount of success. I probably learned more about CSS from this excursion than I have from reading articles online. The tentative plan was for the client's full time developers to build the site; unfortunately that never came to pass as the project was put on the back burner to tackle higher-priority work.
Designer's note: When it came time to choose all the icons, some of the concepts were difficult to find existing icons for, so I designed a few of my own; my favorite is the XML sitemap.
